Malteco Ron is a rum inspired by Guatemalan tradition, but produced in Panama by Varela Hermanos Bodegas de America SA. Although the recipe has its roots in Guatemala, the quality is guaranteed by the 'Asociacion Maestros Roneros de Guatemala'. Varela Hermanos was established in 1908 by Don José Varela Blanco and is based in Pesé, Panama. The rum is distilled using column stills, resulting in a refined and light flavor profile. It is matured in 220 liter used bourbon barrels made of white American oak.
