Production and character

The Rum Rare Proof series is known for being bottled directly from the cask with a high alcohol content, so the flavors from aging and cask stand out clearly.

The aging in bourbon barrels has given the wine complexity and depth — notes of wood, spice and the “warmth” of the tropical climate play a role in the maturation.

Fragrance and flavor notes

Aroma: Rich and complex with dried/fruity notes such as apricot and raisins, as well as exotic tones of tropical fruit. In addition, distinct nuances of vanilla, caramel, oak and a little toasted bread/spices such as cinnamon and baking spices.

Taste: The taste is intense and full-bodied — sweetness from molasses, dried fruit and vanilla, spice and a little nut. The alcohol strength gives a distinct heat bite, but is balanced by the fruit and the barrel. The aftertaste is long with warm notes of spice, wood and perhaps a little “smoke” or oak character.

Recommended serving and use

A “sipping rum” — best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water/a single ice cube to open up the aromas.

Perfect as an end to a meal, for cigar tasting, or when you want a spirit with depth and complexity.
