Hartenberg Estate is among the top 10 wineries in South Africa and is famous for its award-winning Shiraz and Merlot wines. Winemaker Carl Schultz, who was named Winemaker of the Year in 2005, also produces excellent Riesling wines.

The wine is made from carefully selected grapes from clayey soils, resulting in a full-bodied taste with notes of dark fruits, cherries and violets.
