Gaja Magari Rosso Bolgheri Doc Ca' Marcanda 2021

The name "Magari" comes from Italian and means "if only it were true", adding a nice balance between irony and hope. Since 2015, Magari has been composed of 60% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, although this blend can vary slightly depending on the vintage. Each grape variety undergoes separate fermentation in steel tanks, and after the malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in both new and one to two year old barriques. The wine is then aged for several months before being released.

Bolgheri's unique terroir contributes to the wine's special combination of structure and ripe fruit character. The wine has a deep color and the aroma offers notes of blackberry, blackcurrant and licorice with fresh undertones. The taste is clean and harmonious with great potential for development.

Magari is an excellent choice for dishes with lamb, game, beef or strong cheeses.
