De Trafford Winery, located in beautiful Stellenbosch and established by David Trafford in 1992, produces around 45,000 bottles of wine annually. The winery is renowned for its deep and concentrated flavours. Their Cabernet Sauvignon, which has been in production since 1992, has achieved significant international recognition, including from Wine Advocate. The vines are strategically placed on north-facing hillsides with a soil of gravel, clay and granite, which contributes to the impressive body and intensity of the wine. Typically, the wine is aged in 1/3 new oak barrels for approximately 23 months and bottled without filtration. De Trafford Cabernet Sauvignon reaches its best between 8 and 20 years after production.
