Tasting notes
This wine presents impressive depth and structure with powerful fruit and juicy tannins. Bottled with minimal filtration to preserve its delicate structure, the fruit is pure and expressive, challenging the traditional view that Cabernet Franc is only suitable for blending.

Storage potential
Perfect for storage and will be a pleasure to enjoy once it has matured.

Mixing information
100% Cabernet Franc

In the vineyard
David's "Camino Africana" project includes the oldest Cabernet Franc vineyard in Stellenbosch, planted in 1985. The grapes were carefully selected and lightly pressed. After 3 days of cold maceration and spontaneous fermentation, the wine was stirred 3 times daily for 14 days. After 10 days of secondary fermentation, the wine was gently pressed and aged for 18 months in new 300 liter Allier hogshead barrels.

In the basement
The grapes were carefully sorted and crushed as whole berries. After 3 days of cold maceration and spontaneous fermentation, the wine was stirred 3 times a day for 14 days. After 10 days of secondary fermentation, the wine was gently pressed and aged for 24 months in 30% new and 70% second-fill 300 liter Allier hogshead barrels. Bottled with minimal filtration to preserve the wine's fine structure.
