Colombian Aged Gin Treasure is an award-winning gin from Dictador, one of Colombia’s most renowned distilleries, particularly known for its rum. The gin is special because it is aged in oak barrels – a method usually associated with rum and whisky. The result is a gin that combines classic freshness and spice with a soft, round and slightly sweet character from the barrel aging.

Manufacturing

The base for the gin is sugar cane spirit – unlike most other gins which are made from grain. This base gives it a smoother and sweeter profile. After distillation, the gin is aged for several months in old rum casks, adding complexity, vanilla and caramel notes and a silky texture.

Fragrance

The scent is elegant and complex, with classic juniper notes blending with citrus, coriander and spices. Added to this are subtle aromas of vanilla, caramel and light oak tones, which give a sense of depth and warmth.

Taste

The taste is full-bodied and balanced. The dry freshness of the juniper berries is complemented by citrus fruits, ginger, white pepper and a touch of tropical fruits.
