Magis, the white Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Clos Saouma, is composed of 70% Grenache Blanc as well as Clairette, Roussane and Bourboulenc. The must is poured directly into oak barrels from the Jupilles forest in the Loire, where natural fermentation begins with daily stirring. The barrels are then moved to a cooler area to delay malolactic fermentation, which ideally starts in the summer after the harvest. The wine is aged for 20-24 months and presents a fresh color and aroma, with a golden-green hue and taste notes of minerality and white flowers. The finish is a harmonious balance between freshness and sweetness. This is a classic white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, made according to Burgundy traditions. As the wine is bottled without fining or filtering, sediment and pressure may occur, so decanting is recommended before serving.
