Château La Mission Haut-Brion is often confused with other wines from the "Haut Brion" area of ​​Pessac-Léognan and is misunderstood as Château Haut-Brion's secondary wine. Although both châteaux are under the same ownership, La Mission produces a smaller amount of wine from its 20 hectares. These wines are among the most highly regarded in Bordeaux and often achieve top marks, such as 100 points from Robert Parker in the best vintages. The Dillon family, who have owned Château Haut Brion since 1935, acquired La Mission in 1983 and have since significantly improved its reputation.
