CeniPrimo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2015 · MAGNUM

Ricasoli, the second oldest winery in the world located in Gaiole, Tuscany, is known for its exquisite Chianti wines. Since 2015, Francesco Ricasoli has been vinifying three micro-vineyards individually. The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione now includes Castello di Brolio as well as three cru sites: Colledilà, Roncicone and Ceniprimo, all made from 100% Sangiovese. These wines highlight the complex nature of the Chianti Classico region.

CeniPrimo is a Sangiovese from a 6.4 hectare vineyard in the Arbia Valley, planted in 1998. The wine offers an intense aroma of violets and spices, with flavor notes of cherry, blackberry, plum, white pepper and rosemary.

Wine Spectator describes this wine as complex with aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, violet, minerals and spices. Vinum highlights its fruit and floral aromas as well as delicate spices. Decanter notes the wine's darker character with pronounced tannins and excellent acidity. Wine Advocate praises the wine's fruity texture and lively freshness. James Suckling highlights aromas of cherry, citrus peel and red roses with a powerful finish.
