Beyerskloof Traildust Cape Blend 2020

Beyerskloof has created a wine with Traildust that most beautifully represents South Africa's signature style: Cape Blend – a blend where Pinotage plays the leading role, flanked by international grapes. The result is a red wine that combines local character, complexity and elegance .

In the glass, the wine appears deep ruby ​​red with dark reflections. The nose opens with intense notes of blackcurrant, cherry and blackberry , followed by tobacco, cedar, dark chocolate and spices from the barrel aging. A discreet touch of vanilla and dried herbs gives the nose further finesse.

The palate is full-bodied, structured and harmonious , with ripe fruit notes of dark berries and plums, elegantly balanced by silky tannins and fresh acidity. The barrel ageing adds layers of cocoa, espresso and spice , while the finish is long and persistent , with a combination of fruit and discreet smoky depth.

Ageing potential: The wine is ready to drink now, but can be stored for 6–8 years, where it will develop further complexity and tertiary notes of leather, tobacco and dried fruits.

Perfect companion for red meat, lamb, game and grilled dishes - but also ideal for strong cheeses.
