Gaja Ca' Marcanda “Promis” Rosso Di Toscana 2020

Promis is a wine that is typically made from Merlot (50-55%), Syrah (around 35%) and Sangiovese (around 10%), but the blend ratio can vary. Each grape variety is fermented individually in steel tanks and then matured for a year in French barriques, oak barrels and steel tanks. The wines are blended before bottling and matured further before release.

The wine has an elegant and soft character, combining the fruity essence of Montalcino Sangiovese with the soft texture of Castagneto Carducci's Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah. It presents itself with a deep color and aroma of cherries and red berries from the Sangiovese, as well as a full and fleshy style from the Merlot and Syrah. The taste is intense with notes of blackcurrant and blackberry, and in its youth it can have a distinct woody and tannic profile. The wine has a fruit concentration and structure that makes it suitable for aging for 5-8 years.

It is ideal to serve with dishes with lamb, duck, veal or mature cheeses with white or red mold.
