Bagsværd Licorice Liqueur Classic

Type: Licorice liqueur
Alcohol percentage: 20% vol.
Bottle volume: 50 cl
Producer: Bagsværd Lakrids in collaboration with Helsingør Spritfabrik

Description

Bagsværd Lakrids Liqueur Classic is a Danish handmade liqueur that brings the characteristic, intense taste of licorice into a drink. The base is pure vodka distilled from wheat grains and spring water, which is combined with handmade licorice powder from Bagsværd Lakrids.

The color is typically clear to slightly golden licorice liqueur. The aroma offers distinct notes of black and raw licorice, combined with a mild sweetness and a light touch of ammonia.

The taste is full and round with a central focus on licorice – first a powerful licorice taste, which flows into a harmonious sweetness and finally a soft aftertaste with light ammonia and a warm finish. The texture is experienced as soft and pleasant in the mouth. According to one retailer, “the intense licorice taste combined with honey” is highlighted as part of the taste profile.

Application

Neat as avec: Serve well chilled (e.g. 5-7 °C) in a small liqueur glass.

Over ice: Provides a more subdued and rounded experience of the licorice character.

Cocktails: Suitable as an ingredient in cocktails where the licorice flavor is to be emphasized or complemented with citrus, ginger or dark chocolate. Vinløse +1

Dessert use: Can be served with dark chocolate, nougat or as part of dessert experiences with a licorice profile.

Serving tips

Temperature: 5-7 °C when served alone.

Glass choice: A small liqueur glass or a balloon glass if it is to be enjoyed over ice.

Garnish: A small licorice stick as a stirrer or a twist of orange peel can be elegant to enhance the flavor.

Storage: Store dry and not too hot. Bagsvaerd Licorice

Overall rating

Bagsværd Lakrids Liqueur Classic is an excellent choice for the licorice lover who wants to experience the taste of licorice in liqueur form – sharp, authentic and with quality from Danish artisan roots. The combination of licorice, vodka and subtle sweetness makes this liqueur both a pleasure in its own right and an exciting twist in cocktails and desserts.

A liqueur that will delight the true licorice lover – perfect as avec, over ice or as an exclusive ingredient in cocktails.
